1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using SAM Academy ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. Description of Service
SAM Academy provides a K-6 homeschool management and learning platform. Features include curriculum management, interactive learning activities, progress tracking, portfolio management, and attendance recording.
3. User Accounts
Parents/guardians are responsible for creating and managing accounts. Student accounts are created by the parent/guardian administrator. Users must keep login credentials secure. Users must be at least 18 years old to create a parent account.
4. Acceptable Use
Users agree to:
- Use the platform for educational purposes only.
- Not share login credentials with unauthorized persons.
- Not attempt to access other users' data.
- Not upload harmful, offensive, or illegal content.
- Not attempt to compromise platform security.
5. Student Data and Privacy
SAM Academy takes student privacy seriously. We comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act). Student data is:
- Owned by the parent/guardian.
- Never sold to third parties.
- Never used for advertising.
- Encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Deletable upon parent request.
6. Intellectual Property
All platform content, design, and code are the property of SAM Academy. User-generated content (portfolio items, journal entries) remains the property of the user.
7. Disclaimer
SAM Academy provides educational tools and resources. We are not a school district and do not grant diplomas or official credits. Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring compliance with their state's homeschool requirements.
8. Limitation of Liability
SAM Academy is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the platform.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
